We set out to capture a large dark olive hatch on film, but the hatch never fully materialised. Because of this, having a dry fly box with a range of likely patterns is a must. Paul discusses his fly rod, line, leader, and tippet selection for the day, along with LDO and midge patterns, and how to put yourself into the best position to present the fly. Much of the film highlights the need to be stealthy when approaching rising fish, and Paul shares numerous tips on how to give yourself the best chances of presenting a fly to a feeding trout.<\/p>\n<p>While the trout were playing tough to get, Paul managed to outwit a few takers utilising measured approaches.
