Fly Fishing Show in Marlborough, Mass.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wall-to-wall exhibitor booths displaying every fly-fishing tool from factory-fresh rods and reels to boots, waders, clothing and accessories will greet visitors to the 2018 Marlborough Fly Fishing Show\u00ae January 19-21 in the Royal Plaza Trade Center, 181 Boston Post Road West.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hours: Fri. 10 am-6 pm; Sat. 9 am-5:30 pm; Sun. 9 am-4:30 pm. Parking is free. More than $40,000 in national door prizes including fishing trips, clothing, gear and tackle is up for grabs. The Grand Prize \u2013 chosen from all seven 2018 Fly Fishing Shows \u2013 is a nearly $6,000 trip to Pesca Maya, Ascension Bay, Mex., for permit, tarpon, bonefish and snook. Additionally, there are regional show door prizes.<\/p>\n

New England premiere of the 2018 International Fly Fishing Film Festival is Fri. (1\/19) at\u00a06:30 pm. Authors available for book signings include Bob Clouser, Bob Popovics, Jason Randall, Dick Brown, Bob Mallard, Sheila Hassan and Nate Brumley. Admission is $15 for one day, $25 for two days and $35 for three days. Children under age 5 are free as are Boy and Girl Scouts under 16 in uniform. Children under 12 are $5. Edison, NJ, Fly Fishing Show, January 26-28<\/strong><\/h3>\n

With more than $40,000 in national door prizes up for grabs, Eastern seaboard anglers have their eyes on the annual Fly Fishing Show,\u00a0Jan. 26-28\u00a0at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center.\u00a0\u00a0Parking is free.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The facility,\u00a097 Sunfield Ave., Edison, will play host to a three day weekend mixed bag of all-things-fly-fishing with hourly seminars, casting demonstrations, fly-tying, destination films, a Women\u2019s Fly Fishing Showcase, and the newest tackle on display. Fly Fishing Show\u00ae hours are\u00a09 am-6 pm, Fri.;\u00a08:30 am-6 pm, Sat.; and\u00a09 am-4:30 pm\u00a0Sun. Admission is $18 for one day, $28 for two days and $38 for three days.\u00a0\u00a0Children under age 5 are free as are Boy and Girl Scouts under 16 in uniform.\u00a0\u00a0Children under 12 are $5.\u00a0\u00a0Active military with an ID are $10.<\/p>\n

The 250 exhibitors in 340 booths make it the largest fly-fishing-only show in the world.\u00a0\u00a0Exhibitors include both foreign and domestic tackle manufacturers, retailers, artists, authors, lodges, resorts, guide services and conservation organizations \u2013 many offering sales incentives and \u201cshow specials.\u201d Among the national door prizes are trips to\u00a0Pesca Maya, Ascension Bay, Mex., $5,692;\u00a0\u00a0Restigouche River Lodge, New Brunswick, Canada;, $5,350; Grand Slam Lodge, Argentina, $3,750; Nervous Waters at Pira Lodge, Argentina, $3,400; Nervous Waters at Chime Lodge Argentina, $3,000; Andros Island Bonefish Club, Bahamas, $2,900; Iceland fishing guide trip, $2,200; Soaring Eagle Lodge, San Juan River, New Mexico, $1,980; and Trout Hunter, Henry\u2019s Fork at Last Chance, Idaho, $1,900. Others include an original oil painting by Ryan Keene of KRArt, $1,800; Water Master personal watercraft, $1,695; trip with Big Horn Angler, Montana, $1,650; seven nights at Weatherby\u2019s Maine Sporting Lodge, $1,603; guided fishing Davidson River Outfitters, North Carolina, $1,500; Fisheads San Juan River Lodge, New Mexico, $1,500; Siegler Big Game Reel, $1,500; and Yellow Dog Fly Fishing Adventures trip gift certificate, $1,500. Local and regional door prizes will also be awarded.<\/p>\n

Casting demonstrations are scheduled by Gary Borger, Landon Mayer, Jeff Currier, Bob Clouser, Cathy Beck and Simon Gawesworth. Featured fly tiers include Borger, Pat Dorsey, Enrico Puglisi, Clouser, Ed Engle and Philip Rowley. There are 24 classes with fly-tying and casting experts open for advance registration. Class fees are $85 and include admission to the show for that day.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Classes include Fly Casting with Bob Clouser, Casting with Alice Owsley, Advanced Nymph Fishing Techniques with Jason Randall, Trout Hunting 101 with Landon Mayer, Selective Streamer Strategies with George Daniel, Women Only Casting with Sheila Hassan and Casting Strategies with Gary Borger. Others are Practical Nymphing with Ed Engle, Euronymphing Workshop with Jason Randall, Fly Tying with Joe Cordiero, Spey Casting Basics with Rick Kustich, Progressive Nymphing with George Daniel, European Nymphing 101 with Phil Rowley, Dry Fly Academy with Nate Brumley,The Perfect Cast with Gary Borger, Practical Nymphing with Ed Engle, and Fly Casting with Bob Clouser; Youth Fly Fishing with Josh Miller, Simplifying Steelhead Streamers with Greg Senyo, Advanced Stillwater Strategies with Phil Rowley, Women Only Casting with Cathy Beck, The Wet Fly Swing for Steelhead and Beyond with Rick Kustich and Winter on a Dry Fly with Nate Brumley.<\/p>\n

Fly Fishers International (FFI) will host a free learning center with casting, fly-tying,\u00a0knot tying, rigging and choosing a fly. The Women\u2019s Fly Fishing Showcase is devoted to women-centered discussions, presentations, learning opportunities and networking.\u00a0\u00a0A stand-alone women\u2019s exhibitor area will feature booths catering to female anglers with tackle, clothing and accessories. Among the nearly 50 Destination Theater presentations per day are programs on the Madison River, Freshwater Dorado in Argentina, Bonefishing in the Bahamas, Monster Brookies of Labrador, Southern Belize, Fly-Fishing Canadian Pike, Fly Fishing the Carolinas, Advanced Dry Fly Fishing, Baja (Mexico) Fly Fishing Roosterfish, Wading the Flats for Permit, Henry\u2019s Fork and Surrounding Waters, Baby Tarpon at Campeche, Stalking Trout in Yellowstone Country and Southwest Pennsylvania Spring Creeks. Seminars include Taking Your Trout Fishing to the Next Level, Nymphing Strategies, Giant Brook Trout, Fly Fishing Western Tailwaters, Carp Basics, Year Round Striped Bass on a Fly, The Opportunistic Angler, Simple Dries for Sophisticated Trout and What Trout See.<\/p>\n

There are about 20 60-minute seminars scheduled each day in three theaters.
