Dutch artist and designer Ari ‘t Hart will officially open the Dutch Fly Fair on Saturday the 28th of May at Trout fishery De Berenkuil in Nijkerk in the center of the Netherlands. For two days people can enjoy here the best in fly-fishing and fly-tying that the Netherlands and numerous other European countries have to offer.
Over sixty (!) fly-tiers from eleven different countries will show their skills in the fly-tying tent, in fact there will be more than thirty tents on the terrain so that all of the fly-fishing shops, wholesale companies, travel agencies, fly-fishing clubs, rod builders etc. have a place to display their products and services.
Five different workshops will be given during the Fly Fair, ranging from fly-fishing large rivers, polders, creeks, reservoirs to flyfishing along the coast. All of these workshops can be attended for free!
A number of interesting lectures are given during the two days, secondhand fly-fishing stuff can be bought, there is an auction and a lottery, live music and also the catering is of a high level. If you have seen enough of the show, it is even possible to fly-fish for trout for a special price.
When you have a Vispas or if you are a member of the VNV, (Dutch Federation of Flyfishers), than you can enter the Fly Fair for ten euro’s; parking is for free. If you do not have a Vispas and you are not a member of the VNV, than the entrance will cost you thirteen euro’s. If you decide to become a member of the VNV, than the cost of the entrance are taken of from the cost of a membership and you enter the Fly Fair for free!
