Only half a point difference between the numbers one and two in the final ranking!
On Saturday the 15th of October the Dutch Championship Flyfishing for Trout was fished at Trout fishery & Restaurant De Berenkuil in Putten (NL). In total nine teams took part, each made up of five competition flyfishers, representing nine different trout fisheries from the Netherlands.
The final was fished on one of the Put & Take ponds and on part of the main flyfishing lake of the Berenkuil.
All together sixteen session of 25 minutes each were fished from 8.30 hours in the morning.
From the terrace one had an excellent view on the competition.

Jeroen Westerveld was able to land nine rainbow trout in the different sessions.
After each session the participant moved on to another spot on one of the two waters.
In total 185 trout were caught during the final, which is only a little more than 25 percent of the total number of trout that were released in the waters for the competition.
Sometimes applause sounded from the terrace of the Berenkuil when a trout was caught.
The final results were available shortly after the last session.

The NVVF (Nederlandse Vereniging van Forellenvisvijvers (Dutch Federation of Trout Fisheries)) had also arranged a nice set of prizes, with products from Greys and Shakespeare plus some bottles of Schrobbelèr.
The team of Troutfishery De Forel from Bergharen won the titel for 2016 with 915,5 points.
The team of Troutfishery van Berlage from Valthermond ended in second place with 922,5 points.
The team of Visdorado De Kool from Heelweg ended in third place with 924,5 points. The team of De Berenkuil had the same amount of points but ended on the fourth place with two trout less. De fifth place was for Trout fishery Breukink from Steenderen with 947,5 points.

The numbers three, one and two: Herman Huzemeier (champion in 2015, now third with 153,5 points and seven trout), Jeroen Westerveld (first with 148 points and nine trout) and Bjorn van den Brink (second with 148,5 points and ten trout).
