While many creeks were running dry this Autumn in the south of Sweden, the artifical river at the Harasjömåla Fiskecamp was kept at a normal level by means of the pumps working to get enough water going through the river bed. Fly-fishers enjoyed good sport on the “Ström” and many fish in the one and a half up to five kilo class were caught.
With it’s campground, holiday homes, lakes and artificial river, Harasjömåla is a popular destination for fly-fishers from a great many countries.
From the 29th of February until the 27th of November, the reception is open daily. In the winter months booking a spot on the river is possible by telephone or by e-mail (check the website for this), from the 17th of December until the 8th of January the reception is closed.
The reception sells some fishing products as well, the fly-fisher can find fly-boxes, lines, leaders etc. here.
Flies are sold here too, streamers are often a good choice on the river in the Autumn.

There is a shelter and a picknick place right next to the river, an excellent place to meet up with friends.
A 4,9 kilogram rainbow trout safely in the net. It took a small white goldbead streamer fished on a floating line and a four meter leader with a 18/00 tippet. The extra length and weight of the ten foot #5 fly-rod was a good help with the roll and switch casts.
A river in Autumn colours. There are both open spaces along the river as well as more tight spots where a narrow loop and/or special casts are needed.
The first Autumn rain showers have added new colours to the forest next to the river.
