Kau Tapen Lodge opened on Tierra del Fuego’s legendary Río Grande in 1984. Fifty years prior, brown trout were introduced to the twisting rivers of the region. Those trailblazing trout eventually washed to sea. They now return annually to the waters of the Grande, where anglers have been with us to greet these formidable trout ever since-enjoying elegant accommodations and great fishing at Kau Tapen.

Fly Fisherman Magazine editor Ross Purnell notes that there are many places in the world where the fishing isn’t nearly as good as it used to be.
