The U.S. Forest Service and BLM are currently considering public comments on a plan to withdraw the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness from future sulfide mining development. Join BHA in urging the USFS to conserve America’s No. 1 most visited wilderness area.

The Boundary Waters attracts more dedicated backcountry hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts than any other wilderness area in the U.S. The region’s seemingly endless string of quiet, productive waters offers anglers phenomenal fishing for walleye, smallmouth, lake trout and northern pike.

Urge the secretary of the Interior to “withdraw” the approximately 234,328 acres of national forest lands in the Rainy River Watershed from the federal mining program for 20 years to protect the Boundary Waters from sulfide-ore copper mining pollution and damage.
