Following the sale of Lars Svendsen’s company to Maj Invest Equity 18-months ago, a new CEO has been appointed. Lars Svendsen explains: “Having managed Svendsen Sport for nearly 40 years, it’s time for me to step down.
With new ownership and substantial growth over the last period, our company has never been in a stronger position. In 2016 we implemented some major changes to Svendsen Sport which included the merger of Svendsen Sport and DAM and the new management of DAM. Both logistics centres have since been merged, upgraded and relocated to brand new, state of the art premises in Poland, allowing us to service the increased demand from our customers more swiftly and efficiently. Implementing and overseeing these major changes was my final duty as CEO and I’m satisfied that this has been completed successfully. It is now time for a new leader to take the reins and continue our progression. I am therefore delighted to present Hans Maasbøl as our new CEO”.

His most recent being CEO of DK Company Copenhagen A/S – one of Denmark’s top rated fashion companies with strong international success, consisting of brands such as InWear, Part Two, Soaked in Luxury and Martinique, as well as running a very successful retail chain.
Prior to this, Hans held the position as CEO of Denmark´s oldest company – Royal Copenhagen A/S – an iconic Danish porcelain factory dating back to 1775 and now owned by Fiskars Corporation, Finland. Before that, Hans was international Sales Director of Pilgrim A/S, a Danish Jewellery company.
Lars Svendsen continues; “Hans’ wealth of experience in both whole- and retail sales as well as his brand building and leadership skills, I’m 100% confident that he is the right person to take over the responsibility for our future journey”.

Hans comments: “I am very happy for the opportunity to take over the position after Lars, who together with the rest of the team, have been running Svendsen Sport/DAM with great passion and innovation. There is great potential in our company and I’m excited to continue the strong growth to the benefit of our customers, suppliers, employees and owners. I’m very fortunate to have had Lars’ guidance when stepping into the company in order to obtain a clear insight and understanding of the company and our trade”.
Lars is still a shareholder and will remain on the company board. His new role will see him focus his efforts on spearheading the product development team and will no longer be involved in the day-to-day running of the business.
