On Wednesday evening the 21st of November the Irish Press Awards for the year 2018 were presented in “Flavours” in the “Westergasfabriek” in Amsterdam.
The awards were presented in five categories: newspapers, Northern-Ireland, special interest, lifestyle and blogs. The jury consisted of Mirjam Dresmé (ANVR) and Hans Boumans (Volkskrant).

The Irish ambassador had a warm welcome for everybody, especially for the companies from West Cork that took care of the food and drinks this evening.
Danielle Neyts (Tourism Ireland, Brussels) told about the plans for the coming year.
Karen van der Horst had a “Question & Answer” with Yvette van Boven, who promotes the Irish kitchen through a book and her TV-productions.
In each of the categories four or five articles or blogs were nominated for an award. In the category “Special Interest” my article on flyfishing in the historic East of Ireland, a publication in the magazine of the Dutch Federation of Fly Fishers, was nominated too.
