The road to extinction is paved with good intentions.
Artifishal is a film about the high cost of hatcheries, fish farms and human arrogance. We made this film for several reasons: As anglers, we recognize that wild fish are the only way to ensure that fishing is there for our kids and theirs. As taxpayers, we are dismayed at the gross misuse of public money being wasted on a system that not only doesn’t work, but actually contributes to the problem it claims to solve. And finally, as concerned residents of our home planet, we view hatcheries and fish farms as part of a disturbing trend: The willful ignorance of scientific fact for political expediency.
Take Action to Protect Wild Fish
Open net fish farms are threatening wild salmon and other coastal fish species around the world. Protect wild fish and the species and communities that
depend on them.
Tell the governments and members of parliament of Iceland, Norway, Scotland and Ireland to impose an immediate ban on new open net cages and commit to phasing out existing ones everywhere.
