As well as guiding and individual tuition on the River Blackwater next season you are welcome to book one of our four courses next year. These courses also make great gifts and I would be delighted to send you a gift voucher for tuition, guiding, fishing or courses on request.
February 1st is Opening Day and we would like to welcome you to the start of the new season with a breakfast roll and a fun casting/gear clinic. Spaces are limited to ten people and the cost is € 25. Booking is essential please.
Casting and fishing sinking/skagit lines and heavy flies
February 2nd I will be running a workshop on Casting and fishing sinking/skagit lines and heavy flies. The cost is € 150 per person including lunch and fishing. Maximum six participants.
March 7th Double Hand/Spey Casting for improvers including lunch and fishing. The cost is € 150 per person. Maximum six participants.
June 13th Single Handed Spey/Skagit casting, hitching flies and low water techniques. The cost is € 150 per person. Including lunch and fishing. Maximum six participants.

Norway August 2020 Trip Date is Week 32, 01/08-08/08 (One Place Left on this Week)
We will arrive to Trondheim Vaernes airport in Norway on 1st August 2020. The drive is approximately 50 minutes on very quiet roads from the airport to the Guesthouse Aunemo where we will be staying in single rooms for the week (http://www.salmonfishing-norway.com/unterkunft.htm). We will be taking a maximum of 6 people on this trip and suggest that the car hire is split between two people, if possible. If you are travelling on your own then we will try to arrange that other single rods travelling group together in pairs as you will be fishing in pairs for the week.
The disinfection of your equipment will take place at the farm by Bjorn the Fishery manager on arrival and will cost each person 150 NOK which is about € 15. You will also need to purchase a national fishing licence which will cost € 55 on arrival.
The fishing week begins on Saturday at 20.00 and ends on the following Saturday 08.00. In Norway it is light quite late and bright early at this time of year so you really can ‘try’ to fish all day and night if you wish. The fishing is on a beat rota system with 5 beats and you will change each beat normally every 12 hours.
Unguided fishing
The fishing is unguided however the beats are easy to find and also easy to read for experienced anglers. Each beat has a maximum of two rods fishing. Glenda and Noel will be there to help and I will be working with each group of 2 for a number of morning sessions during the week with some tuition and guiding. This I will also work on a rota system.
Aunemo Guesthouse is a very old beautiful wooden house and has everything we need. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and breakfast will be provided each morning at 8am. The rest of the day it is up to each person to make a packed lunch, dinner or whatever you would prefer. There is a super kitchen with all cooking equipment required and a nice place to enjoy meals. There are also numerous restaurants and shops in the area.
The total cost of the Accommodation, Salmon Fishing, and my guiding/tuition as outlined above for the week is € 2500 per person. 50% non refundable deposit is required on booking and the balance is due by the end of March 2020.

Course 1 Arrive for dinner around 19.30 at the Tayside Hotel in Stanley Perthshire on Monday 29th June 2020. The course is held on the Kercock Beat of the River Tay on Tuesday 30th June, Wednesday 1st July and Thursday 2nd July. We depart from the hotel on the morning of the 3rd July.
Course 2 Arrive for dinner around 19.30 at the Tayside Hotel in Stanley Perthshire on Sunday 5th July 2020. The course is held on the Kercock Beat of the River Tay on Monday 6th July, Tuesday 7th July and Wednesday 8th July. We depart from the hotel on the morning of the 9th July.
Course 3 Arrive for dinner around 19.30 at the Tayside Hotel in Stanley Perthshire on Wednesday 8th July 2020. The course is held on the Kercock Beat of the River Tay on Thursday 9th July, Friday 10th July and Saturday 11th July. We depart from the hotel on the morning of the 12th July.
The course is suitable for all levels of angler. It is mainly a double handed fly fishing course however we will be doing some single handed casting also. There is a course workbook and a three day programme including; safety, safe wading, knot tying, fly Selection, equipment selection and fly line discussion, many casts including the Spey Casts, Snap Casts, Skagit Casts and fishing techniques including Hitching, Low water Salmon Fishing, Fishing Micro Flies and Stripping Flies.
The cost is £900 per person. This includes four nights single room accommodation at the Tayside Hotel, Dinner, Lunch and Breakfast. A bus is also provided to and from the fishing. Three days fishing on the mighty Tay with 3 full days tuition and guiding with Glenda Powell. Maximum 6 people per course.
