Earlier this week, Pebble executives were caught on camera saying some damning things about their true intentions in Bristol Bay.
Now-former Pebble Limited Partnership CEO, Tom Collier, and Northern Dynasty Minerals President, Ron Thiessen, unequivocally showed their companies’ true intentions: that the impacts to Bristol Bay from Pebble will be much larger than proposed in the ongoing permitting process, and that they are using politics to advance the project because science doesn’t support their proposal.
Tell Congress to investigate Pebble and deny the permit today.
A series of 12 videos, called the Pebble Tapes, shows executives sharing plans to expand the mine by 180 years and construct additional infrastructure beyond its current proposal; touting permanent storage of massive volumes of mine waste that negate their current mine closure plans; and include details about the company’s coordination with Alaska and federal government officials to influence the permitting process.
Taxpayer funded
These videos are another reason Pebble’s permit must be denied today. Even further, we need Congress to investigate Pebble’s actions – lying to federal regulators, Congress and the American people cannot be ignored amid an ongoing, taxpayer-funded permit review process. Please write Congress today.
The Pebble Tapes show what we’ve said since the beginning of the permitting process: a Canadian mining company with a risky and incomplete plan cannot be trusted to operate in the headwaters of the most prolific sockeye salmon fishery on the planet. Pebble’s permit must be denied today, and we need our elected officials to step up here.

P.S. Today, Pebble’s CEO, Tom Collier, resigned in the wake of the Pebble Tapes. His resignation does nothing to resolve the problems with Pebble’s plans and their undue political lobbying. Tell Congress to investigate Pebble and deny the permit today.
