It can be frustrating to fly fish busy, popular rainbow trout streams. Vehicles at every access and anglers clearly having worked the few rainbow trout, our fly fishing tactics have to change. We arrived to find exactly that as the weather forced anglers to converge on this stream. We detail how we had a go anyway, adopting gear and tactics to focus on the few active rainbow trout we found knowing the fish had been fished to earlier that day. We certainly didn’t catch all the spooky and shy rainbow trout but we share how we went about our day.
