On Sunday the 16th of April, the first competition for the Dutch Championship in Fly Fishing 2023 was fished on the fly fishing lake of Visdorado De Kool in Heelweg (NL).
Forty-six fly fishers participated in this competition and together they managed to land around 240 trout over the day.
As new trout where put into the lake in the morning and during lunch time, most fish were caught by actively pulling streamers or trout lures. The combination of a bung with a few buzzers was not effective this day.
René Koops stayed well in front of the other fly fishers with a total of seventeen trout, Nick Mager and Richard Prick van Wely, the numbers two and three, had eleven fish each.
