‘Mending The Line’ Screening & ‘Guiding Star: The Legacy Of Jose Wejebe’ Exhibit
Our 16th annual AMFF Fly-Fishing Festival will take place on the museum grounds in beautiful Manchester, Vermont, on Saturday, August 12, from 10 am until 4 pm. This is our signature event of the summer, featuring a unique collection of vendors, painters, appraisers, industry artisans and professionals, and other angling-related nonprofits. Come enjoy fly tying and casting demonstrations, try your hand at casting vintage rods, learn how to tie a fly, and mingle with like-minded people as you share the joy of the great outdoors.

Mending The Line Screening
Join AMFF for a special screening Saturday, August 12, at 7 p.m. EDT at Burr & Burton Academy’s Riley Center to benefit the American Museum of Fly Fishing and the Southwestern Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Mending the Line tells the story of Colter (Sinqua Walls), a Marine wounded in Afghanistan who is sent to a V.A. facility in Montana. There he meets Ike Fletcher (Brian Cox), a Vietnam vet who teaches Colter how to fly fish as a way of dealing with his emotional and physical trauma. Tickets are $20.

Guiding Star: The Legacy of Jose Wejebe
With our newest exhibit, AMFF celebrates the life and angling adventures of Jose Wejebe. After fleeing Cuba with his family in the 1970s, he ultimately landed in Miami, Florida, and from there began forging relationships with this country’s most respected saltwater anglers, such as Stu Apte, Flip Pallot, and Lefty Kreh. Developing his angling skill set, he was to become a renowned Florida Keys guide, and host of the long-running TV series, The Spanish Fly up until his tragic death in 2012. His memory lives on through his family foundation and this new exhibit.
