The fishing for seatrout on Moen is probably the best in Denmark, according to Fishing Zealand. There can be some really big fish there. And depending on the season the numbers can be incredible.
The fishing for seatrout in Zealand can be excellent all over the island – especially when it comes to size of the fish, the region is the leading destination in Denmark.

Fishing Zealand – a cooperative project
Fishing Zealand is an ambitious project comprising a number of different partners. Denmark’s Sport Fishing Association, various municipalities on Zealand and the islands and volunteer sport fishermen all work together with local businesses and tourist organizations to develop sustainable sport fishing and to improve the possibilities for fishing in the region as a whole. The project makes a positive contribution to sport fishing tourism and growth in local businesses, but also to the environment and to sport fishermen. Fishing Zealand is currently organized with a political supervisory group and a project group. Both groups comprise members who represent the various partners.
Fishing Zealand does not promote fishing for pike at the moment, as the pike population is historically low. Instead they do a lot of nature restoration, as breeding grounds for pikes are lacking. They are making lots of breeding grounds for pike and perch and have done some “pike factories” as well. Fishing Zealand made this film a few years ago about some of their work (https://fishingzealand.dk/film/fz-film/) called the “The Pike Factory” with English subtitles.
Last week Fishing Zealand invited the Minister of Environment and the Minister of Fisheries to see some of the projects that they are doing together with other partners and leading scientists: https://fishingzealand.dk/nyheder/ministre-og-borgmestre-var-til-rovfiske-traef-ved-tubaek/.
