Announcement – Film presentation: On both days of the 20th EWF we will have the opportunity to watch the wonderful documentary film ‘Emerald Paradise – Fly-Fishing in the Soča Valley’ by Laurens Bubendorfer!
The film will show: “A declaration of love to the Soča River and the story of saving a species”. In Slovenia, in the south-east of Europe, in the heart of the raw and mostly untouched nature of the Triglav National Park, is the source of one of world’s most beautiful rivers, the Soča River. After only 140 kilometres, it flows into the Adriatic Sea in Italy, where its name is Isonzo. Its turquoise-coloured waters and tributaries are home to a very special trout species, the marble trout (Salmo marmoratus). This species was threatened by extinction because of hybridization and survived thanks to extensive work of researchers, fish farmers and angling associations. (Laurens Bubendorfer)

Wild Salmon Connections!
We’re pleased to announce that all three days of the Wild Salmon Connections conference in London in January 2025 are now viewable online via the Missing Salmon Alliance YouTube-Channel. This event has marked a turning point in international cooperation for wild salmon recovery.
We at EWF are delighted to have played our role to this fantastic cooperation with the launch of the “Wild Salmon Without Borders” symposium at the EWF last April. We’re happy to announce that the Atlantic Salmon Trust will be participating in the 20th EWF on April 5-6, 2025, to answer all your questions about the progress of the Wild Salmon Connections initiative.

The Event Forum Fürstenfeld will, for the twentieth time, be the international meeting point for fly fishermen and -women. After a great many successful expositions, the EWF will open its doors in April 2025.
