SIM Suisse is offering free mini-courses at the 20th Experience the World of Fly Fishing (EWF) to familiarise yourself with the Italian Casting Style or to deepen your knowledge of it.
You can get a first insight into the Italian Casting Style during the casting demo by Paolo Rezzonico and Simone Commetti and later pick up a fly rod and try it out yourself. In addition to Paolo and Simone, several instructors, including Malik Mazbouri, are looking forward to welcoming many interested beginners and advanced fly fisher at their stand in the Stadtsaal or at their casting area.

Dear fly tiers and fly fishers,
The German Open Fly Tying Championship 2025 is on the home straight. Only a few days separate us from 28 March, the deadline for this year’s fly tying championship. You still have a little time to decide in which category you would like to participate, or even in all three.
For the dry fly category, the world-famous ‘Klinkhåmer Special’ has long been announced as a compulsory pattern. Hans van Klinken has led the way. Now it’s your turn. The fly is a great emerger.
The second fly in the dry fly category should be a pattern of your choice from the insect world. You have complete freedom, there are no limits to your imagination, just like in the other two categories streamer and realistic fly.
