Kustleden is a hotel with a number of holiday homes around it as well, it is situated in the town of Strömsbruk about half way along the east coast of Sweden. In the hotel, which is also a hostel, one can rent kayaks and canoes, there is a fishing shop, a camera museum etc. There are numerous opportunities to fish with the fly in this area.
At the hotel one can also rent bikes, there are conference facilities, free WiFi, art exhibitions, there is an outdoor shop and the rooms and apartments are nice and clean.

As the name suggests, the center is close to the coast, with every opportunity to fly-fish for ide and pike for example.
The river in front of Kustleden holds a good head of grayling, some whitefish species, perch and pike.
This 39 cm grayling took a size 14 goldbead nymph fished under a strike indicator.
With streamerlines with a fast sinking tip we fished some of the deep holes in the river for pike.
Allthough we missed a number of takes, we managed to land three healthy, strong pike with a length of up to 73 cm in the river.
Jessica Dolk guided us one afternoon and evening to a different section of the river, upstream of some big lakes.Jessica knows how to cast and fish with the flyrod really well, we asked that she would fish too while guiding the two of us. She is also deeply involved in the restoration of the river to its former glory.

We fished some streamers on sinktip lines in the fast water, hoping that a big, wild brown trout would grab it, but the fish kept rejecting our offerings here.
