Connecting Fish, Rivers and People.
The European Anglers Alliance is proud to support once again the World Fish Migration Day (WFMD) that this year will take place on the 21st of April. More than 100 events around the world have already been registered on the WFMD website and EAA’s members are fully involved in many of them.
Organised every two years by the World Fish Migration Foundation, the WFMD is meant to raise awareness on the necessity for fish to migrate between their spawning grounds and their feeding areas. The difficulties for the fish to fulfil their natural life cycle are numerous and mostly caused by human activities as it is the case for hydropower dams. Additionally, the event aims to draw attention to the important role that fish play in healthy and balanced ecosystem.
