Fishing boat manufacturer, Brunswick, has announced the formation of the Aluminium Boat Group (ABG), a move designed to help the Illinois corporation fully leverage the scale of its multi-brand business.
The new structure will also help drive operating margins and improve profitability, says the Illinois operation.
ABG will comprise seven brands – Lund, Harris, Lowe, Crestliner, Princecraft, Cypress Cay and Thunder Jet – and will be based at the company’s Mettawa headquarters. “This is a transformative year for Brunswick,” said CEO, David Foulkes. “ABG will improve the efficiency and performance of our boat portfolio, while strengthening each of these leading brands. “The new group will also result in better customer service, enhanced quality and improved profitability,” added Foulkes.
The formation of ABG follows Brunswick’s recent establishment of the Venture Group of fibreglass brands, including Bayliner, Heyday, Quicksilver and Uttern. Earlier this year the corporation made job cuts expected to help reduce annual operating costs by up to $35m, as well as selling off its Fitness Division.
