Trout Unlimited is assembling it’s lawyers

This summer, the EPA removed protections authorized by the Clean Water Act for the Bristol Bay region. This week, Trout Unlimited announced we are suing them for this decision, which served no purpose but to help pave the way for the Pebble mine.

When agencies intended to serve the American public ignore the law and clear science to advance the wrong mine in the wrong place, we fight back.

Today, on behalf of lodges, fishing guides, pilots and anglers who want the Bristol Bay fishery to remain the salmon and trout powerhouse it is today, we have filed claims against the EPA for their unlawful withdrawal of the proposed protections known as the 2014 Proposed Determination. That’s right- we are suing the EPA.

Donate now to our efforts to protect the fish and people of Bristol Bay.

The political motives of the withdrawal of the PD are as clear as a Bristol Bay stream- which is why we are fighting to make sure that science and process is restored to a place that deserves the highest standard.

Donating

Our team of lawyers have assembled and have begun the process to ensure that the EPA upholds the Proposed Determination. Meanwhile, we ask for your support as we enter a crucial time for Bristol Bay. Giving $5 can buy a hard-earned coffee for one of the lawyers; donating $500 can fly a lodge owner to D.C. to testify and fight to save their job, homes, and livelihood. Whatever you can give, we appreciate the longstanding support you’ve provided for Bristol Bay.

We will keep you updated throughout litigation to ensure you have the latest news. Stay tuned.
