The organisers of the Experience the World of Fly Fishing are looking forward to welcoming Roy Ole Jakobsen from Norway at the 15th EWF. Visit him at his fly tying bench on stage of the Stadtsaal.
“My name is Roy Ole Læhren Jakobsen and I was born in 1977 and raised in a small wooded valley close to Mjøsa, the biggest lake in Norway. I now live in Raufoss in central Norway, two hours north of the capital Oslo. I’m married and my beautiful wife and I have two kids plus a foster son living with us.
In my childhood, fishing was my prime interest.
I started fishing alone at the age of 8 and began tying my own flies when I was about 12 years old. I still remember sitting along the banks of Norway’s river Orkla tying salmon-tubes for the older fishermen. The flies actually were successful. A fly tyer was born!”
