With receptions from 17.00 to 19.00 hours local time for the media and buyers at the ICAST New Product Showcase and the IFTD New Product Showcase, the ICAST – IFTD Show closed off the first of four days with show and entertainment. At the ICAST New Product Showcase are alone more than 900 new products to be seen, the IFTD New Product Showcase adds a few dozen fly-fishing products to that.

There are many more kayaks, subs and other floating devices to be seen this year. There are still interesting developments in this sector to be seen.
A fly-reel by the American brand Seigler, with a lever drag system like it is to be found on many large sea-reels. One can put 30 lb of fighting pressure on a fish with this drag.
Media and buyers can vote here too for the best new products in different categories at the IFTD Show.

A wading belt by Fishpond with a number of extra features, it can hold your wading net for example.
The new DirectCore Bonefish fly-line by RIO Products, one that will perform like few others on the tropical flats.
Orvis is introducing new fly-lines for use on freshwater and saltwater as well.
Some of the features of the larger Orvis Mirage fly-reels are to be found in the smaller freshwater versions as well.
At the ICAST there will be, for the first time, two rounds of voting for the best new products. First in the different categories, the results of this will be made public on Wednesday evening the 11th of July. Next it is possible to vote for the “Best of Show” award, the winner in this category will be announced on Thursday the 12th of July.
