A new catalogue, new videos and a series of fly-tying tutorials are available from fishing and outdoor retailer, Farlows, and sister retailer and mail order company, Sportfish.

The spring/summer Sportfish catalogue is packed with top brands and includes everything from technical clothing to hi-tech rods and reels, waders, luggage, nets, flies, fly lines and many other accessories.

 

 

The 228-page catalogue is available in print or digital versions and can be accessed here.

With anglers everywhere still adjusting to new lifestyles during the COVID-19 pandemic, Farlows is live streaming fly-tying sessions on its Facebook page at 15.30 GMT every Wednesday and Friday.

#keeponflytying is designed for all levels of fly tying ability. For beginners it answers questions like which vice to buy, what tools are needed, which materials to choose and what hooks to select. For more experienced tyers it provides ideas for patterns for all species and helps constructively fill time during the lockdown.

 

 

Both Farlows and Sportfish have also launched new videos. ‘Fishing Will Wait’ from Farlows underlines the message that, while this is a frustrating time for the angling community, the most important thing is to safeguard their own and other peoples’ health by staying at home. ‘Gadget of the Week’ is a video segment in the Sportfish weekly newsletter, in which a team member showcases different technical tools on their YouTube channel.
