BEHIND THE FLY
We’d be hard-pressed to name any other insect that brings more excitement to catching trout than stoneflies. Few things can stand between angler and stonefly. RIO Fly Designer Patrick Kilby knows this all too well and fishes for them every chance he gets. Family time is the only thing he enjoys more than a good stonefly hatch, so when tasked with developing a new pattern, he looked to his daughter Emma for inspiration.

Give them something to frenzy over, with a realistic silhouette, two-tone bodies, fluttering wings with a dash of flash, and flat rubber legs that swim back and forth like the real deal. We can practically guarantee the fish won’t need any more convincing.
