Ahrex – Hellasocken – tied by Erik Hellquist

The classic Swedish river Mörrum is world-renowned for its salmon and sea trout fishing – and countless fish of “monster-dimensions” have been caught in this beautiful river, which runs through the Swedish forests before it flows into the sea. One of the iconic flies from Mörrum is the Mörrrumsock, and in this video we have Erik Hellquist behind the vise to demonstrate his version of the classic Mörrumfly – but with a twist. This fly goes back to 2012 when Erik caught a big salmon in pool 4. Sometimes he ties Hellasocken on a size 10 hook, but never on anything bigger than a size 8.
