Fly tiers from across the country and around the world will converge Saturday and Sunday (November 16 – 17) for the 33rd annual International Fly Tying Symposium at the Double Tree by Hilton, 200 Atrium Dr., Somerset, NJ for seminars, classes and demonstrations in the art of turning fur, feathers and assorted materials into artificial fishing flies.
There will be about 100 demonstrators including Bob Clouser, designer of the Clouser fly pattern for virtually every species of fish. Clouser will conduct seminars and individual classes.
Saturday banquet speaker is guide and charter boat captain Jim Freda with “Fly Fishing the New Jersey Fall Striper Blitz.” Freda’s Shore Catch Sport Fishing is in Pt. Pleasant.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday; 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $18 Sat., $15 Sun. or $28 for a two day pass. Children under age 16 are free. Admission is by cash only. Parking is free.
