The Geoff Anderson company has been refining the Raptor5 fishing jacket for fifteen years – and in that time it has had less than one piece a year returned.
With such impressive statistics, the Danish manufacturer has seen no reason to change the garment’s basic design, but continuous improvements over time mean the latest version is 22% lighter, more breathable and stronger than ever.
Materials used are also more environmentally friendly and the European-produced tape technology is much improved. The jacket’s windproof and waterproof quality is achieved by the use of a substance (membrane) that is applied during the production process and which becomes a part of the material. It is, says Geoff Anderson, by far the most durable material for angling in both fresh and saltwater. The membrane is also protected by a mesh lining.
The roomy box pockets close tightly to eliminate rain and are complemented by a large back pocket with YKK zipper and an inner pocket that can be used without opening the jacket. The front zipper is well protected by a double over-fold, Velcro fastening and stainless buttons. Half-gloves built into the sleeves add warmth, protect the skin against the sleeve edge and absorb water coming down the rod handle. All elastic cords in the adjustable hood are hidden to avoid being hooked.
The jacket comes in seven sizes from small to jumbo and is available in green or yellow.
