Flymen Fishing Company says that it is taking poppers to the next level with its latest innovation.
The Brevard, North Carolina-based company has introduced the Howitzer Articulated Baitfish Popper which has been designed for the growing band of anglers who are taking to topwater fishing with articulated flies.
Martin Bawden, founder of Flymen Fishing Co. and its Head Product Designer, said: “One of the biggest innovations that we are bringing to fly fishing is taking poppers to the next level by completely eliminating hard, old style, epoxy in exchange for a flexible version that can take strike after strike without breaking or cracking.”
The Howitzer Articulated Baitfish Popper is a wounded baitfish imitation that attracts fish with its powerful pops and lifelike swimming action. It is designed to look like it is sipping at the surface with its body dangling down in the water, offering predatory gamefish an easy meal.
“It is a great addition to our Surface Seducer line of foam flies and features the ‘soft bite’ coating that so many of our customers are enjoying across the fly range,” added Bawden.
