The Hardy Averon is the centrepiece of the Hardy freshwater performance reel range, boasting an ultra-lightweight disc drag system that exemplifies the quality and reliability of the Hardy brand. Available in both half-frame and full-cage models, this reel offers unparalleled performance and versatility for freshwater fly anglers from tiny mountain trout to giant steelhead.

 

 

Replacing the Hardy Ultradisc fly reel, the Hardy Averon features updated and enhanced components that elevate the performance standards of freshwater fly reels. The frame is meticulously designed to blend performance, balance, and fishability. This large arbour reel includes an open, half-frame design on most models, allowing for weight reduction and easy spool changes to accommodate different line sizes. The 5000 Euro Nymph model and the 9000 Spey model feature a full-cage design for specialty applications like ultra-long leaders, Euro nymphing, and Spey fishing.

The Euro nymph model is equipped with an interchangeable weight system, enabling anglers to fine-tune the rod’s in-hand balance. Additionally, the 5000 Euro nymph model boasts a larger arbour than the standard 5000 size, reducing the need for backing and minimizing line coils. The 5000EN and standard 5000 size spools are interchangeable and available separately, allowing anglers to customize their setup.

The Averon’s smooth drag system features a large, easy-to-adjust knob with definitive clicks between settings. This drag system allows for fine adjustments, while the 2.5 turn knob ensures quick modifications. With minimal startup inertia, the reel delivers exceptional fish-stopping power while maintaining a balanced feel in hand.

Available in titanium with gold accents and black with gunmetal accents (varying by size), the Hardy Averon combines aesthetics with functionality.
